When you meet Jonathan, look at his hands. They're impressive. For starters, they're really big. In one, you'll probably find a thin-line, black marker drawing away and, in the other, a worn, leather sketchbook piled high with doodles, slogans and illustrative translations of the dizzying activity going on in his head. Those same hands then guide his initial sketches - the ones bursting with creativity and (most importantly) relevance - with the larger design team, who builds on his ideas and translates them into video and packaging, print and web.
Jonathan first got his design hands wet as art director for a Vancouver publication before leaving to join Envisioning + Storytelling where a world of video and motion graphics opened up to him. Next, he worked on TV, radio and print campaigns for another local agency before heading up his own one-man creative firm where those busy, capable hands were terribly, terribly full. But now, with a solid team in a place and a few less things to juggle, those hands are focused on what they do best: creating, designing, leading and finessing. Oh, and unsticking paper jams that, somehow, only those nimble fingers seem to manage.
